Why do I need a Permanent Restoration? It is absolutely essential to correctly restore the tooth after the Root Canal is completed.
Usually the tooth has a temporary restoration placed after completion and this is only meant to last until the permanent restoration is placed
It is also essential that the permanent Restoration is completed ASAP to prevent any complications like Fractures.
In General a Root Treated Tooth should have its permanent restoration placed within a month of completion of the Root Canal Treatment.
For most teeth this will mean either a crown or an onlay, in either case protecting the cusps and biting surface are the priorities.
